Some of the most influential books are not the same as the books that I would list as my "favorites."

While favorite books are fun to read, influential books are those that really trigger personal tranformation in us and form us as people.

Top 10 Books On Personal Transformation

Silva_methods_personal_transformation1. The Silva Mind Control Method
by Jose Silva

Made me meditate 3 times a day when I was 14 and showed me how to open my mind to self-healing and intuition.

Today Mindvalley is the world’s biggest publisher of the Silva Method programs.

Psycho-sybernetics-personal-transformation.jpeg2. Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz

Read at 15. I learned to hack my mind and to understand how much my beliefs influenced my world.

Today I make it a point to constantly question my beliefs from childhood.

win-friends-influence-people-personal-transformation.jpg3. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Read this 7 times before I turned 19. Then used techniques in the book to become student body president and start 20 clubs and societies in Taylor's College.

law-of-attraction-personal-transformation.jpg4. The Law of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks

Everything you need to know about attracting anything into your life.

A must-read.

Conversations_with_God_personal_transformation.gif5. Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch

Read at 22. This book transformed my world view and made me give up religion forever. More so, it made me convinced that religion was a dangerous historical relic and that mankind is better off without it.

autobiography-yogi-personal-transformation.jpg6. Autobiography of a Yogi

Read at 24. I was depressed. This book helped me pull out because it made me realise that the world is a malleable illusion. And that we are particles of God experiencing ourselves.

Thus, the human experience is one we can control with our minds and what happens in life happens "from" us. Not "to" us.

Influence-persuasion-personal-transformationjpeg7. Influence by Robert Cialdini

Use the framework in this book to propose a website to my first client at 26.

Mindvalley was born.

Cashflow-quadrant-personal-transformation.jpg8. The Cashflow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki

Read this when I was 27 and a bedroom entrepreneur and it helped me learn to manage finances well so I could grow Mindvalley with zero outside funding till we hit 200 employees.

personal-transformation-losing-my-virginity-book-cover.jpeg9. Losing My Virginity by Richard Branson

Read at 30. Made me realise that once you start one company, you can replicate the model and start hundreds of companies if you just learn how to attract and inspire people. Today a lot of Mindvalley and my own personal lifestyle is modelled after the Virgin group and ideas and conversations I’ve had with Branson. Key idea: Having constant FUN is a viable way of doing business.

personal-transformation-steve-jobs-book.jpeg10. Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson

Read at 36. Made me understand that founders of companies have a unique magical ability and I should never let management, partners or anyone tell me I’m too ADD, too passionate on an idea, or need to change my personality, because it was these neurotic abilities that got me here in the first place.

It helped me embrace my crazy side.
